During a period of reconstruction in the Archeological Museum of Athens Vera Stanković saw ancient sculptures wrapped in nylon foils for protection. This encounter was the crucial moment in her career and in deciding upon her future subject-matter. These sculture vellate that emerged and disappeared under the layers of their nylon wrappers, helped Vera Stanković to define her need for spatial articulation of the intriguing states or events from the borderline of the External and the Internal. Instigated by the folds of the pleated nylon that covered the sculptures, she began her search for a membrane, for a state of osmosis when the exterior transforms into the interior turned inside out.
